Scottish Immigration to America
Presentation
Saturday, July 25
1:00pm - 2:30pm
Join the Capital District Genealogical Society members for their monthly meeting, followed by a Zoom presentation by genealogist Scott Norrick.
This presentation examines Scottish immigration to America, exploring why many Scots left home and where they settled—from 17th century exiles in New England, to 18th century Scots-Irish in the Mid-Atlantic and Carolinas, to 19th and 20th century immigrants in major U.S. cities. Over 8.4 million Americans report Scottish heritage; the actual number may be much higher.
Scott Norrick has over 30 years of family history research experience, and through his company, Ancestral Past, helps others with their family research, specializing in immigration to America from Britain, Ireland, and the Germanic countries. Scott is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
