Community Field Trip: Thacher State Park
Friday, July 17
11:00am - 1:00pm
Meet us at Thacher State Park's Emma Treadwell Nature Center in Voorheesville for an educational program on fossils and a casual nature walk! For adults only.
Thacher Park is situated along the Helderberg Escarpment and is one of the richest fossil-bearing formations in the world. We will be exploring the geological history of the park and examining fossils of ancient sea creatures during this approximately one and a half hour educator-led program. After the program, feel free to take a stroll on the many trails the park offers and enjoy the panorama of the Hudson-Mohawk Valleys and the Adirondack and Green Mountains.
All entrance and program fees are paid for by the Library. Please be sure to register each attendee separately. Parking is available onsite.
All programs are subject to change.
